Event Details

EFMD Global brings to you the seventh EOCCS Learning Community Symposium and an optional pre-symposium Rethinking Business Education Workshop, taking place on 14 and 15 September 2023 face-to-face at UPF Barcelona School of Management, with the possibility to attend online.

The EOCCS Symposium offers insights into the alternative models of education that have emerged in the digital age. It gathers business schools, companies and other education providers from both EOCCS certified institutions and other interested organisations and individuals to exchange good practices and explore ways of upgrading the quality of online learning and upskilling those involved in online education. The Rethinking Business Education Workshop is focused on defining a long-term, sustainable strategy in digital learning for business schools. Both the Symposium and the Workshop are delivered in an innovative hybrid format that extends participation opportunities and transforms theory into practice.

EOCCS LEARNING COMMUNITY SYMPOSIUM

One major key to online or blended learning is the immersion and engagement in both synchronous and asynchronous online activities. Learning is not a passive experience for either learners or instructors, but which activities produce the best outcomes? This year’s Symposium will reflect research and good practice in the area of online engagement and provide an opportunity for practitioners and managers to discuss and challenge what we always thought we knew about online delivery.

The two-day symposium is designed for anyone involved and interested in online education, coming both from L&D providers (Business Schools, Executive Education Centers / Consultancies) and companies. Supported by the innovative learning platform Engageli, practical experience of the hybrid delivery is offered for all participants.

RETHINKING BUSINESS EDUCATION WORKSHOP (OPTIONAL)

Defining and implementing a long-term digital strategy is essential for business schools to keep up with the current trends, become more sustainable and cost-effective and stay considered as centers of excellence. The Rethinking Business Education Workshop aims to assist business schools in developing a new, coherent, and innovative strategy, using digital learning to modernise their educational activities. The programme is divided into three sessions: comprehensive testimonials from the field – with a specific attention to the strategic dimension, a workshop for co-creating strategic lines for digital learning, and insights into the recent trends that might influence the development of digital learning strategies in the next years.

This half-day workshop is designed for Deans, Executive Directors and Programme Managers. Faculty and professional staff involved in online learning strategy is also welcome to join. It will be held prior to the EOCCS symposium as an optional part.

Registration for both events is open until 3 September 2023 for face-to-face participants / 10 September 2023 for online participants.
