The new classes of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models, ranging from the popular image generation algorithms like Midjourney and Stable Diffusion to the large language models (LLMs) like GPT-4 and Facebook’s LLaMa, have taken the world by storm. Suddenly machines have entirely new capabilities that were once considered the domain of humans only. What does this mean for our work? In this session we will discuss what these models are, how they work, and what kind of applications you can do with them, focusing in particular on work in universities.
