2025 EFMD Coffee with Careers

We invite Career Services professionals from EFMD schools worldwide to join us online this fall for a 1.5-hour Coffee with Careers session. We will discuss and reflect on best practices and emerging trends in Career Services.

In this edition, we will connect with our community of career services professionals to explore two topics:

• Self-regulation and student behaviour in the age of AI (Toni Liu) – Students have grappled with being overwhelmed, self-doubt, and constantly pressured to perform in the past decade. With the rise of AI, algorithms, and digital distractions, those challenges are only escalating. This talk offers higher education professionals a focused, practical look at how to foster self-regulation among students navigating digital overwhelm, shortcut temptations, and performance anxiety.

• How to stay relevant to your alumni (Matthias Feist) – Can we keep up with them? Matthias will discuss his experience working with alums in business education and probably the quickest moving alum population on the planet – junior software developers trained from remote boot camps. Under immense pressure from an employment market that went to pieces after the pandemic, they’re expected to learn new tech stacks at short notice. What can we learn from students who asked questions about AI well before the ChatGPT moment of 2022? Because higher education students aren’t far behind, career services need to be able to keep up with communication habits and the places where they meet before we get left behind. He will look at some strategies to achieve that.
